MEET THE TEAM AT
Mental Healthcare Australia
Anthony Kutty
DIRECTOR & PSYCHOTHERAPIST
I possess an empathic, intentional and warm therapeutic style, wherein I place value on creating a strong connection, trust & rapport with you to enable you to share about yourself comfortably. I feel humour, play and authenticity as a therapist can be important facilitators in the counselling process. In sessions, I provide structure, and am analytical and practical in my approach as I hope to support you to new areas of growth and self-awareness.

As your therapist, I work from a relational and strengths-based approach. Stemming from my early career experience supporting complex youth in a residential care setting, a Domestic and Family Violence Children's Counsellor and Group Facilitator for the Stopping Family Violence - Men's Behaviour Change program and an Alcohol and Other Drugs clinician, I have developed a particular interest in trauma and as such provide a trauma-informed practice.

The primary therapeutic models I draw from Person-Centred Frameworks, alongside but not limited to Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Existentialism and the Three Phased Approach to the treatment of Trauma. Within these approaches, I aim to teach psychological strategies to: effectively manage painful and uncomfortable emotions; disengage from unhelpful beliefs about self and others; and reaffirm your purpose/direction, create motivation through your values and to support you on your journey to happiness and wellbeing.

I look forward to supporting you here at Mental Healthcare Australia.
